Who We Are

APRNs, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, are also known as Nurse Practitioners. After obtaining a Masters of Sceince Degree, they go through advanced education, clinical training, and certification which is beyond the scope of basic nursing degrees. APRNs have the ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage various health conditions, including prescribing medications. They serve as primary and specialized healthcare providers across various environments. Like all members in the healthcare team, APRNs follow a scope of practice when caring for patients. This includes, but is not limited to the following.

Conduct initial and comprehensive patient evaluations

Diagnose many common acute illnesses and injuries

Provide ongoing care and long-term disease case management

Create patient treatment plans

Prescribe drug therapies, medical equipment and care interventions

Refer complex conditions to physicians when appropriate

Counsel patients on health promotion topics

In particular, APRNs can work fairly autonomously in ambulatory care environments like clinics, nursing homes, schools and patient homes. They collaborate with medical doctors in hospitals, emergency departments and specialist offices for optimal team-based patient care.

Why Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse practitioners stand out from other healthcare providers due to their distinct focus on the overall well-being of individuals. By prioritizing health promotion, disease prevention, and providing health education and counseling, nurse practitioners assist patients in making informed decisions regarding their health and lifestyle. This approach can ultimately reduce patients' expenses, reduce return visits to the health care system, and improve their overall health and wellness.

What do patients say?

Love these ladies!! They spend time with you and answer your questions.

Very friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere.

Mrs. Gangwish was very professional and thorough at my appointment. Took time to listen to my concerns, issues, and what I've done to treat the issue for which I was being seen, and came up with a treatment plan. I'm excited to be able to once again have my medical care in the hands of a provider that I trust and I truly feel has all her patient's best interest at heart!

“I've lived two hours away for the past five years, and I always come back to see Brenda. Been seeing her for over 10 years, and there's no one else I'd rather go to. She truly takes time to listen and gets your input about how you want to proceed. She is wonderful and very personable. I'd recommend her to anyone.”

Not once have I questioned my care with a nurse practitioner. All the letters in a name don’t mean much to me in a doctor’s office, I just want to make sure my kids are taken care of. Here every question is answered, even some I didn’t realize I had. They are proactive and really take care of the whole person not just what is on the paper.
